could anyone send me a copy of a dell xps 400 restore disk iso?

i have a dell xps 400 from 2006, when i got it the os was corrupted and i had to format the drive so now i dont have the restore partition, does anyone know where to get a restore disk without having to beg dell for one and pay 90$?

i have tried that, and it says my computer is not elligable

Try ebay. There are usually oem XP recovery discs available for ~$10.

A generic OEM xp install disk would work, doesn't need to be dell specific as long as it is the correct version(home, media center or pro) and OEM the key on the case should work, I've done it many times in the past.

Yes, i've had mixed luck with this, it appears to only work with newer models.

look for windows key sticker on the PC . then install the system from any Windows DVD/Iso / flash ...

you can download the drivers from DELL site and install them as well.

You dont need recovery CD.

after you finish everything , make your own recovery flash or DVD using any free recovery/imaging program around.
