Could I add a GT 740 cooler to a GTX 750 ti single-slot?

So I read an article posted on Tom's Hardware awhile back and somebody used an AMD Firepro cooler and placed it onto a GTX 750 ti. The temperatures were okay but I was wondering could I just buy a GT 740 and do the same thing?

It may actually work. The hole pattern would be the only thing I can think of that might not match.

If you could order from Japan or Europe, they have several true single slot GTX 750 Ti cards available:

If the heat sink cooler assembly physically fits, yes. The GTX 750 Ti is a 60W TDP card and the GT 640 is a 64W TDP card. So, efficiency-wise you should be OK. But it doesn't look like the mounting system for the full height card will fit the half height card.

As long as they are both half height cards, it should be do-able. But that isn't the same GT 740 you posted above.

You might have better luck if you match manufacturers, tho. I'm not sure both Evga and MSI use the same heat sink fan mounting arrangement. The hole pattern may be off.

Apparently you need a narrow single width low profile card?

Yeah, I gave you the wrong link. I don't know, seems like it would be a fun project even if I just end up getting the AMD Firepro. Was just wanting to see if anybody has actually done it with a GT 740 cooler since it is a GPU made by Nvidia.
