Could I have damaged my card (980)?

So today I decided to overclock my MSI gtx 980.

I used MSI afterburner to overclock by only pushing the power limit to max and not touching the v-core. I got to my target of 1500 Mhz. I pushed the speed up in steps of 10 to an offset off +165 on the core and running Valley Benchmark between every step multiple times to look for artifacts and errors.

1500 is stable and temps don't exceed 70°C. However the first game I threw at the OC was City Skylines and I am getting horrible coil whine. I've only played the game once before and with Headset on so I don't know if this is new or not. Since then I went back to stock and the whine is still there.

Other games have it too, but in C:S my card is singing a song right now.
Could the OC have caused this?
