Question Could I have peeled something important off an NVME PCB when pulling off its sticker?

So I bought an SX8200 Pro 1TB. It came with a sticker. After putting it on, I didn't like it and decided to pull it off. The adhesive was quite strong, and I noticed there was a black spot on the sticker after peeling it off.
My drive is running slower than I expected (3200 read / 2800 write, compared to the advertised 3500/3000, which is what other people get too). I couldn't have peeled off anything important off the pcb could I? Another reason I can think of that's causing the drive to run slower is possibly due to my mobo m2 heatsink. I heard ssds run faster when they're hotter, is that true? Should I take off the heatsink?

Not quite sure, but check with CrystalDiskInfo whether which PCIE does run on.
You may have to change settings in bios to M.2 mode to disable one PCIE x1/4 lane for it.
I've also peeled off from my M.2 and by default cause of the motherboard it runs PCIE Gen 2 X2.
