I really don't want to degrade the lifespan of my i5 4690k at a fast pace, currently I'm stable at 4.5ghz @ 1.260V with the hyper 212 evo. My maximum load would be streaming h1z1 on ultra and that brings me up to 55-60c, when stress testing its about 65-70c(prime95 and intel stress test utility). Do you guys think I could try and push 4.7ghz?

Solution
I wouldn't, not unless you try 4.6 first. As you keep pushing the multiplier your cpu will likely need more and more voltage. It depends on your actual cpu since each are different. As voltage goes up so will temps and the 212 evo may not be able to keep up. Whether it's worth pushing more or not with around .04v to go before you start reaching a place most people are comfortable running at for full time use (1.3v), possibly needing a new cooler etc for 200mhz is up to you.

You're welcome to try what you like.

I would explore and see what 4.6Ghz runs at. Mine runs at 1.283V for 4.6Ghz (and 1.378V for 4.8Ghz, which is too much voltage for me) The improvement will be minor, but if you can keep the voltage under 1.3V and the temperatures reasonable, I would do it.

However, your EVO may not be able. to hold the temperatures. Although I use a Noctua D15S, I could reach the same temperatures with a much cheaper RAIJUNTEK Pallas.
