I am a semi-avid gamer but I would like to have a really solid pair of headphones. I have a budget of under $100 and after considering a good few headphones and headsets I have settled on the ATH-M30X from Audio Technica. I would use them for gaming a lot but of course also listening to music or whatever. I'm not asking anyone to recommend me the Cloud 2 or any other headset that may or may not be better, I just want to know how good these specific headphones are for gaming. I play a lot of CS:GO and FPS games like that, PUBG, etc. So I need to to able to pinpoint footsteps, reloading sounds, etc. around me accurately. They don't have to blow a 500$ headset out of the water, but are the M30Xs able to pinpoint sounds around you and give accure surround sound? Any other notes you might have on this particular headphone for gaming etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

They are decent headphones for the price but they are not what I would call good for gaming, mainly because they are closed back. Closed back headphones don't have great sound stage, meaning judging the direction and distance of sounds in game will be more difficult than it would be with a open or semi open headphone. For music or other media consumption im sure you wont be dissapointed with the M30X's.

I could recommend something else in that price range and they would not be the hyper x clouds.
