I know this is sounds stupid but I'd appreciate some help.
GPU: Sapphire R9 270X Vapor-X
Mobo: MSI Z87 G45 GAMING
Procie: i5 4670
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
So like a week ago I started having problems with having blank, black screens of death after Windows Update automatically installs the updated AMD drivers. It took me a few clean installs of the OS to figure out what was causing this black screen (installing drivers of any sort for the GPU. I even tried installing old Catalyst drivers, same effect)
So when plugged in to the GPU's DVI, my monitor has an output, at least until the drivers are automatically updated by Windows, or until I manually install the drivers at which point I get a black screen.
So now I'm wondering if it's a driver issue or if I could have a busted card. Is it possible for the integrated graphics to be outputting through the card's DVI port (hence why I had some output before drivers were installed)
I plan to give this card away to a friend after having these driver problems and I really don't want to saddle him with a card that turns out to be busted.
Thanks guys!
