Could my MB have been shocked?

I installed the Cooler master EVO and put the RAM on my MB that I need to replace the one in my PC. I watched a Video on the Cooler Master Hyper Evo installation and I remember the guy saying you should use the anti static bag on top of your MB box. I never did this before but I have heard of people saying it is fine. I never plugged the power into it it was just sitting on the bag on the box. I just came across some info telling me never to use the bag once you have opened it. should I be worried?

For work (medical electronics) I use static bags all the time and the bags are 100% reusable so long as there are no holes(just places...
It is always advised to wear an anti static wristband, however you can always ground yourself properly every so often and you should be fine.

Static is horrible for hardware and can result in hardware malfunction.

Yeah I have one I put on my ankle..But your sure about the anti-static bag. It may no been true but This person posted a comment saying if you put your MB or any PCB or component on the bad once it has been opened you will ruin your parts. why would someone say that I looked up if it as safe on a few threads and I guess lots of people have used the bag on top of the MB box

For work (medical electronics) I use static bags all the time and the bags are 100% reusable so long as there are no holes(just places charges can get through). What makes them static proof is that they are a special plastic that cannot conduct charges like normal plastics they can also slightly ground from weak charges. You can actually buy the stuff in sheets for workbenches etc.

Ok good to know for sure now as I tend to obsess over my PC and parts that I bought. well not obsess but Have to much attention to detail when it comes to this stuff and especially Components I own. Thanks for replying

I guess That is it it has been a few hours since I posted this so I imagine people some who did actually read it thought to themselves I am worried about nothing or they think it is toast and they don't have the heart to tell me.

Complete rubbish, I design electronics, conduct ESD tests and develop ESD processes for production. Beside being in the bag, then next best place is on the bag. Opening the bag makes no difference, they are open to start with, some are heat sealed closed and some just have some tape. You had an antistatic strap too, which most people don't bother with, although personally at home, I just make sure I touch a metal object which is grounded. So don't worry, you'll be fine.

But if you walk around then pick up a CPU or RAM and come close to the pins/circuit, expect to kill it.
