I received a cable with my new motherboard and have no idea what it's for one end is a standard USB connection the other end has USB stamped on it but it looks more like a printer connection with a smaller connection below it ?
It's a USB interface that is usually used with larger hardware. So what you have is a USB Type A to type B cable. A will go into your PC, B will go into a corresponding USB device (usually printer / scanner etc.).

USB 3.0 A-B cable.....most likely for an external hard drive enclosure, or a multi-format card reader, although there are other devices which require this type of interconnect.
Aren't these used for printers? my printer has that type of usb cable to plug into it, its useful that they gave you it extra cuase i bought around 3 of them.
