Hi, quick info...

W7 64b .. Intel Core i7-4790 .. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 .. DDR3 16gb RAM .. Gigabyte Z97-HD3

Hopefully I have attached the .dmp correctly. I had issues a few years back with hard hangs/freezes (not BSOD) and it eventually came down to (after replacing all other hardware) faulty RAM (it had passed all stress tests hence not replacing it earlier). I am starting to get a few freezes - not so much BSOD except for today when I actually got a .dmp crash file (I usually just freeze/hang and need a hard reset) and wanted to see if it looks like RAM or something else. I think I will need to buy new RAM that suits my setup better, appreciate your time for reading and any help.

Solution
your system most likely rebooted because too much power was used by the GPU, the motherboard or PSU detected the problem and reset the CPU but the CPU was allowed to start before the system power was stable. on the reboot the CPU was running with low power and detected a internal error on its bus and called the bugcheck.

the key evidence for this would be the system up timer:
System Uptime: 0 days 0:00:03.324

3 seconds means the system was in the process of rebooting.
the reported error from the CPU was
Error Type : Micro-Architectural Error
Error : Internal timer (Proc 0 Bank 3)

the memory dump was a panic memory dump and I can not see the BIOS and only a partial loading of the drivers.

You need to figure out the cause of the power fluctuation that caused the CPU to reset in the first place rather than look at the secondary event of the bugcheck.

(the bugcheck was caused because the PSU/ motherboard did not keep the CPU reset until the power was stable again)

remove overclocking, check the graphics for proper power connections and supply, overheating, make sure the fans are all spinning up, blow out any dust.
check your PSU for the proper rating for you GPU.

Thanks for your reply john. My system isn't OC but I will check out the power/fans etc as you suggested. Might just be I need to give it a clean up inside. I was worried about it being related to an old problem as I mentioned so I didnt think to check for something new, especially once I saw that I had BSOD/.dmp file for the first time.

Appreciate your time on this.
