I got a message saying "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs."

Mobo should be fine, the FX CPUs have been around long enough the BIOS should come with the needed updates (unless it's been on a shelf for about 3 years 😉 ), would change the DRAM to 2x4GB to get the extra performance from dual channel, and might consider a CPU cooler (H7 or 212 EVO if planning to OC the CPU

No idea of it's price but could look at a good 500 is all that would be needed, maybe SeaSonic, EVGA.........
