Okay just so i keep this clear:
-When you carry your laptop into the routers room you get a connection but if you turn around and walk into your room you get no connection, correct?
-But your mobile phone is successful in maintaining a connection to the WIFI while your holding it in either room, correct?
Does the phones connection weaken if you have it in your room compared to the routers?
Whats router do you have?

I have had a similar issue happen to myself. One day my console and pc was not able to acquire a success connection with the router downstairs while my smartphones could. If i wheeled my pc out to the hallway it could successfully gain a connection.
So to resolve this i bought this.

These are devices you plug into a wall socket and they act like LAN but by using your copper power lines in your walls to transfer an internet connection through the house to any other WIFI boosters you have in the wall around the house and then you put a LAN cable from one of them to the device you want to give an internet connection to, it is really quite clever. Of course the master one will have its LAN cable plugged into the router.
So it will be: Living Room Router ->LAN cable -> Living Room Master WIFi Booster ->Copper Power Wall Line -> Bedroom WIFI Booster -> LAN Cable -> Laptop.
