Question Counter-Strike 1.6 Server - - install offline ?

Could anyone can tell me which CS 1.6 version i should use to play counterstrike offline with my wife and bots. I tried CS 1.6 original, i opened the ports, made port forwarding on my router, even disabled firewall, but no results. Could you post a link to the CS 1.6 download and maybe some video, how to configure?

Are you intending to play online? Only reason to do anything with a router would be to host the server on the internet.

For local game you would just have one system act as host.

Setting up a LAN server:


Goto your game directory
Find "hlds.exe"
Run as administrator
Allow access in firewall if prompted (This would be the Windows firewall, not the router)
Configure the game
Set up a password
Start the server

Now, Open the game. Goto find servers, and LAN tab. A game should be available. Choose it and Start the game. In order to change the map, open "hlds.exe" [should be in the tray icon].

Ah the good old days. Haven't set up a CS 1.6 server since like 2003.

i did it already before, even without a firewall. Doesn't work. Maybe someone has another suggestions?
