Recently I started noticing a considerable mouse lag (ie instead of the usual 1s from one end of screen to the other, its 3-5s with stutter) whenever I play a game.
Been playing this game for a while now and never had that issue. Checked my game settings and nothing had changed, so I updated everything I could and it still wasn't fixed.
Unfortunately, it started happening even outside the game, therefore eliminating the game as the culprit. Noticed it while I was using Excel. Every single time I would copy something (like a formula) from my school website, and started selecting a range of text (in the formula bar), the mouse would lag for 2-3 s.
Decided to try and monitor my GPU and CPU using MSI Afterburner. Also had Task Manager open to see if any CPU Spikes occurred.
During gameplay, I noticed that everything had a stable range it stayed at, but when the mouse lag happened, CPU 1 and CPU 3 both hit 100% and all the rest stayed in their range.
Typically CPU1 and CPU3 are around 50%-70% usage, while the rest are below 40%.
I'm by no means knowledgeable in this area, I have no clue how to find out what is making my CPU spike so randomly since Task Manager did not show anything unusual during the spike.
I've changed my game settings to bare minimum, update drivers, uninstalled and re-installed mouse driver, ran a disk check (not the cmd prompt one), scanned entire pc for virus and nada...
Only other option I can think of is to re-install windows but I would like to avoid that if at all possible.
If anyone has any ideas that can help me fix this, please let me know.
Thank you.
I am using:
mouse: Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse
Windows 10 x64
AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight core
16GB RAM
Radeon(TM) RX 460 Graphics
