CPU 100% but nothing is on

I have been getting 100%cpu usage but I have nothing running o the system. The task manager shows 100% but there doesn’t seem to be anything running. Could this be a virus ? I ran the defender but it found nothing. I thought it would be the specter or meltdown update from Microsoft but not sure.

Go in task managers' detailed process list and show processes from all users. Could be something like the .NET framework recompiling stuff, often takes hours to complete on my PC.

My friend told me that it's possible that crypto mining software is on the machine. I did notice that sometimes there was GPU usage. O

I thought I tried the details and nothing showed up as you suggested. The CPU was 100% for quite a few days so I have to believe it may be the crypto miner....

In any event. I had a backup image of the machine so reinstalling it to my drive now.
