Hey

So just now I replaced the PSU (power supply) on my system to a new one. And now, for some reason my trusty i5-2500k (who never gave me any problems under the old psu) is going directly to FULL LOAD when i boot my PC.. everything else is working fine but for the CPU.

I've overclocked it in the past so just now I tried to reset the BIOS to defaults but it didn't do anything. CPU still at max load when booting.

There is something I must say: When I was messing with all the cables while installing the PSU, i accidentally touched some pins at the BACK of my MOTHERBOARD right where the CPU is located. Could it have broken something? It was just a gentle touch. I can't believe it.

Any tips on what i should be trying next?

Thanks

YEAHHHHHHHHHH PC IS WORKING AGAIN! XDDDDDD

I seem to have fixed the problem.

I just double-checked that the cable from PSU to motherboard CPU power slot was in place, pulled it out and plugged it back in, and now my CPU is working as normal.

Thanks Tradesman1 for trying to help. And I'm running a 980 Ti by the way XD i didnt want to brag so i didnt tell specs xD
