[SOLVED] CPU AIO Mounting Difficulty

Hey guys,

I'll kick off by saying I'm using a B660M-A DDR4 motherboard and the deep cool gammaxx l240 AIO.

Now I'm having difficulty with this damn backplate. I'm aware that you do need a LGA 1700 mounting bracket and was under the impression this is one.

Please see the photos for reference but I just can't seem to line the holes up, seems at max I can get is two pins through. Would this be secure enough for the AIO on top of the CPU?

I did manage to get all 4 through but it took a bit of force and the angles once it comes through the motherboard holes was all over the place

Any help would be really appreciated, if I can just secure it with two screws then that should be okay right?

Solution
Deepcool is offering a lga1700 mounting kit for free:

The kit is important for proper cooling.
As you have found, the lga1700 mounting holes are spaced wider.
But, the lga1700 processors are also a bit thinner so compensation needs to be made to get the proper mounting pressure.

Your two screw hold down fix is probably ok for running, temporarily, but I would get the kit asap.

No, it's not right. If you have used right kit and parts, all for points should be secured, AIO blocks need a lot of pressure and hoses may pull it askew.
