CPU and case PWM fans not showing RPM on Asus h97

Hi,

the motherboard controls the CPU and Case PWM (4-pins) fans as it should, it speeds them up on heavy load and works silently on idle, the strange thing is that it doesn't show me RPM in HW monitor, in Asus Bios it shows only the RPM of CPU fan(stock Hyper Evo 212). On my previous computers HW showed RPM of even non PWM fans, now it shows noone.

Is this motherboard or fan related problem?

The CPU fan is stock Hyper Evo 212 fan, the other fan is Arctic F12 PWM PST.

Motherboard: Asus h97m-e (BIOS not updated)
CPU: i7 4790
GPU: Asus 280x Top

Instead of HWMonitor, try the utility software that came with your motherboard - http://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/H97ME/ - EZ Tuning Wizard – OC and RAID: and Real-time hardware monitor - Benefit from instant information from the critical parts of your system!

Done that, it shows only the stock CPU fan RPM, it is probably Arctiv f12 PWM PST fan problem, i read many experienced this with this fan.

The question i have now is the fan always running in silent mode or does it run according to CPU temperature?

It is hooked to motherboard chassis fan PWM 4-pins, it's imosible to hook PWM to PSU, and if it was hooked to PSU it would run always at max speed which it don't, it runs silently on idle.

I read in some forum that the Arctic Cooling F12 PWM PST doesn't show RPM but the PWM is working and motherboard is controling it anyway. I don't think it's a motherboard problem, i got that Arctic F12 PWM PST new for so cheap(4€), it moves good amount of air and is very silent, almost same as 20€ Noctua and Corsair ones. As long as it runs silently it's not a problem for me even if it doesn't show the RPM, it looks like i can do nothing about it anyway. At load the stock Hyper Evo 212 fan runs at higher RPM, the F12 is mounted on the other side of the thin Hyper Evo heatsink so i can't determine if it runs "louader" at load. I haven't tried diasbling the stock fan to determine for sure if the Arctic F12 is running at faster speeds at full load because i'm afraid of getting the comp too hot.

The temperatures of my i7 4790 at long full load are from 65-70 C which is fine for me, and overal i'm happy with the fan the way it is, i have one side of the case open and Arctic F12 is doing a great job to push the air out in back and the open side.

Someone on Amazon had the same problem with the fun, noone answered to him thou.

I'm not buying a 20€ fan just to see RPM, because that is the only thing that this fan is lacking.

I made few pictures.

Well it is a concern, i thought someone here knew why the fan works silently(as it was PWM controlled but doesn't show RPM), im still not sure if it speeds up or works at minimum all the time and had no answers here that would help me figure that out. Normal 3 pin fans work at max speed or voltage control but at first they always run at max speed until set otherwise.
