Hi first some disclosure I don't know much about CPU's i only began building until about a year ago.

I currently use an i5-3750k and typically play more CPU intensive games like MMO's.

I just want to make sure i'm using my hardware to the full potential. After looking around i found some information that suggested sometimes not all of your CPU cores are being used and you need to activate them manually?

Is there anything to this? Besides overclocking what can i do to optimize my CPU performance?

Solution
An overclocked I5-3750K is about as good as it gets. No, you don't have to turn on cores. You can look at various programs that will show the loading of your cores CPUID etc.
