Question CPU and GPU cool enough?

hi imposting temps, these are the tempsof my GPU and CPU. Bearing in mind the case is closed and not very well ventilated (old acer predator case).

Im running on an i5 4690 (haswell)

the idle temp of this is on average - 36c
under stress, on average - 72c

Gpu Radeon armour Rx 580 8gb OC 2048sp

idle temp on average - 52c
under stress, on average - 79c

Are these temps ok?

Both temps are within safe limits (under 80C) so no worries.

Managed to get a steady GPU idle temp of 33c now. whats a dangerous temp for both CPU and GPU? do systems usually cut out before these levels can be reached, is there any kind of built in safeguard?

Above 80C is too warm for both. Either CPU or GPU will thermal throttle which is lower performance to avoid damage and if it's still too hot the system would eventually shut down to prevent damage.
