CPU and GPU OC

What software/programs do i need before overclocking my CPU and GPU? Should i OC through BIOS? Do you need a program to OC GPU like Afterburner? Will overclocking through a program be easier?

You can use the MSI Genie for a modest safe CPU overclock. I wouldn't OC your graphics card since your power supply sucks balls.

600 watts isn't enough even though the estimated watts used is 350???

The wattage doesn't mean much when the CX most likely can't even reach that output. It's a very poor choice in PSU, even for a stock clocked gaming rig. It's built by Channel Well using every cost cutting shortcut available including substandard capacitors. Poor regulation and ripple suppression can cripple overclocking as well as lower the lifespan of graphics cards and motherboards.

ALWAYS overclock the CPU through the BIOS. I like Afterburner for the GPU.

I don't consider OC Genie real overclocking :lol:

OP also made a thread earlier today saying he didn't want to have to mess with blue screens, trial and error, messing with checking temps, etc and just wanted an overclocked PC.....so.....yeah.

What about stress testing programs and temp monitors etc?

MSI afterburber for GPU temps
Coretemp or HWMonitor for CPU.

Unigine heaven for GPU benchmarks or 3dMARK.
Prime95 for CPU.

Lately for CPU I have been using IBT with AVX for rough stability testing and ASUS Realbench for longer stability tests.
