CPU and GPU overclocking with different methods

I was just wondering why CPUs are overclocked in the bios, while GPUs are overclocked by software. It's just a discussion, doesn't require a model answer.

to put it simply because gpus have there own bios that we can really acsses in the same way we can a cpu bios

for some extreme gpu overclocks people make/download new bios and can overclock from that new bios that they have made for the gpu

i do not recommend doing this becaus it can brick your gpu making it completely unusable
