CPU and Mobo Upgarde Help

I would appreciate any advice given. I am upgrading from a E8400

$500 budget in mind fro cpu+mobo,

I am leaning towards a 6600k + Asus VIII Hero -- $419 bundle @newegg.

However there is also a 6700k + Asus VII Ranger --$489 bundle @newegg.

I will only used my system for gaming and light Photoshop use. Average OC as well.I will also be purchasing a new GPU; originally was leaning towards about the 980gtx, but I think it is wise to wait until June if the pascal GPUs are released. I plan to game on 1080p, will upgrade to 1440p monitor around November

6700k + Asus VII Ranger --$489 is better choice, since the price difference is small
the new platform will only accept DDR4 ram, so you will need 2x4GB or 2x8GB DDR4

Would this system perform well for just gaming on 1080p. Maybe 1440p at the end of the year. Im trying to put any extra cash towards the gpu.

980 ti or a new pascal chip equivalent when it becomes available.
