Cpu and motherboard compatibility

I am looking to buy a asus 970 pro gaming motherboard and a fx 8350 from pc part picker but it is saying there is a compatibility issue and that I need to update the bios with a compatible cpu first.

My question is can I not just update the bios with the fx 8350 in the motherboard and it work or what cpu can I use to update it without spending a load more money?

My only other solution is buying a 990x motherboard but I'm struggling to find anywhere that sells them for a reasonable price.

Skip FX , go with Ryzen.

If you do buy FX , it doesn't need a BIOS update it's a standard warning.
