So i bought an old computer a month ago HP compaq 500T with motherbaord Foxconn 2A8C and he had 2 x 1GB DDR3 Samsung memory sticks

I bought 2 x 4GB DDR3 Samsung and it has no problem running though the motherboard manufacturer says it
support 4GB max. Then I decided to upgrade the CPU from intel celeron E3400 to Intel core 2 quad 8400 but when I installed it, there was this one short
and one long beep and thye PC refuses to run, so I returned the CPU to the seller.
Then I bought intel pentium E6600 (which i have now) and same problem. I figuired out that the problem might be the ram so i removed my 2 x 4GB memmory sticks
and installed the original 2 x 1GB and the computer now runs.
My question is what can I do about it so that i can run my PC with my 8GB RAM and a faster CPU, preferably that which I have now, if not, any other.

Why my E3400 supports the new ram, but E6600 and core 2 quad 8300 do not?? I am really confused, I don;t know where to look anymore for information.
I gooogled supported ram sizes for E3400 but cannot find anything.
I mean, even one of the two DIMMs 4GB alone causes beeping.
