[SOLVED] Cpu backplate stuck with adhesive? But wanting to come off

I am currently putting on a new heat sink and this back plate seems to be stuck with adhesive? But I've used my fan to heat it up and barely much give.. the four sides are loose, but the left and right sides are stuck pretty tight on.. and am scared to pull too hard? Any suggestions? I've tried use a flathead with bit of tape on it to pry a little outside of that not sure what to do. Sorry first time doing this. (Also I did not build this it was from a prebuilding site)

hair dryer. heat will melt the adhesive a bit. a hair dryer should not get hot enough to damage the board. have someone else handle and aim the dryer to prevent any static discharge.
get the plate good and warm and try again.
