Hi, i recently upgraded my cpu and motherboard to an AM3+ socket, in hopes my overall performance in games and even out of games would improve, but not so much. since the upgrade not much has changed, for instance, my average FPS on csgo, with everything on low and even a low resolution, is about 100, although this is quite high, its not even close to what i should be getting...

My PC specs.
ASUS STRIX GTX 970
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
8gb corsair vengence RAM

if anyone has any ideas for what it might be please let me know...

Solution
Which worse CPUs? A dual core Intel Pentium has significantly higher single-threaded performance than an FX-8320, and will deliver higher FPS in Source games.
CS:GO is very single-thread limited, and AMD's CPUs have abysmal single-threaded performance. AMD's FX CPUs that they sell today have similar or worse per-clock performance than the CPUs they were selling in 2008-2010, and simply adding more cores will not help that game, or most games for that matter.

If you want a sizable performance improvement, the only viable option is to move to an Intel platform. Otherwise, live with what you have.

there are people with the same or even worse versions of that CPU getting 200fps
