Hi everyone,
Hopefully someone can help me with this. I recently bought a pc parts of a friend as I was looking to upgrade, one of these being a new cpu.
Upon installing the new parts and switching it on the computer started to run everything looked to be working then it would turn off and then back on again. This would cycle until the PSU was switched off.
I then put in an internal speaker which did 5 beeps and according to the gigabyte page that means there is a cpu error. I assumed it might have been due to the fan not sitting on the CPU right so I reseated it but still no luck.
I then cleaned the cpu, changed the thermal paste and tried using a different fan to no avail.
Since I bought the cpu with the mobo I didn’t come in contact with it until I cleaned it.
Does it sound like the cpu is completely broken or am I missing something obvious?
