Hey guys, I’ve had problems over the last two week with the BF6 Open beta. I'm getting a CPU bottleneck and for the life of me I cannot figure it out.

I load up battlefield 6 Open beta and everything is fine but then I load into a conquest game and and my cpu just dies, I turned on the overlay and It says my cpu is doing 42/23.8 and that varies it goes lower and then up but never higher. It’s causing bad fps, it’s also causing me to ice skate etc. I’ve enabled Dcop, Ive checked for a thermal throttle but my temps are fine, the only thing I can think of is my ram isn’t fast/big enough. One of my friends has the same CPU as me. But I excel in almost ever other aspect (Hardware) he can run the game fine and has no issues. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You forgot to mention the make and model of the PSU. Include the age of the unit as well.

Asus b5-50 Morherboard
Asus is the brand of the motherboard, while B550 is the chipset, what is the model for the board you have and what BIOS version are you on at this moment of time?

and my cpu just dies
Please elaborate on this.

You've mentioned BattleField 6, have you tried other titles?

One of my friends has the same CPU as me.
Besides the CPU, what are the rest of his specs?

Sorry mate, didn’t realise how much I left out,

The mother board is ASUS ROG Strix b550-F Gaming WIFI II/ not sure what version of bios I’m on, currently not home to have a look at the moment. But I feel like it’s fairly new

My PSU be quite! Pure power 12 M 850 W

I have tried other titles and they run fine. I’ve even played cyberpunk on max setting and no problems. It just seems to be Battlefield 6

All of my hardware is about 1.5 year old as I bought it all at the same time.

I’m unsure of friends specs fully. I believe he’s running a nvida 2070 Super I’m not entirely sure sorry!

I have a phot of what my cpu says it’s doing but I can’t find anywhere to insert. The best way to describe it is. It feels like I’m lagging and just constantly rubber banding. I’ve done speed test on my wifi which is fine. I also use an Ethernet cable. But again I live in the same house as my friend and his game runs fine. If there’s any more information you need please let me know. Thank you for your time

While I wouldn't expect great performance from that CPU it does seem low. It'd be worth checking to see what the overall CPU usage looks like in the game along with clock speeds. There is some overhead in nvidia drivers which will cause some performance loss, but I'd still expect >60 FPS on that CPU.

It wouldn't hurt to check memory usage too since if there's enough out of game usage 16GB might not be enough (also ensure the memory is running the correct speed).
