So here is the thing I recently bought a new GPU a ASUS Strix GTX 960 and I loved it!, Until I realized that the GPU performance was a lot lower than other people's on the internet. So I have come to the conclusion that the CPU is causing Bottleneck. I didn't built the PC I got it from Cybertron PC so I don't know how to change CPU.

My question is what I a good CPU for the GTX 960 to work to its full performance??

Also one Last Question, I wish to switch from AMD to Intel, How will I go about it??

Here are my specs
Processor AMD FX(tm)-4130 Quad-Core Processor
Manufacturer AMD
Speed 3.8 GHz
Number of Cores 4
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 960
Dedicated Memory 2.1 GB

Any Help will be Much Appreciated :)

Also almost forgot but my current PSU is 450W only enough for my current set up. So keeping this in mind what will be a good PSU for the new CPU and a little extra for future upgrades?

Solution

Try -

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.98 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($26.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97M Killer Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($104.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($57.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $419.94
My question is what I a good CPU for the GTX 960 to work to its full performance?? - In your case (AM3+ mobo) get at least a FX6300.

Also one Last Question, I wish to switch from AMD to Intel, How will I go about it?? - buy a z97 motherboard and i5 4690k or cheaper but still fine get a H97 mobo with i5 4690 (non k) CPU. You also might have to get new ram if yours doesn't suit the new motherboard.

As of yet I do not know I will not be upgrading soon since I do not have any savings yet but what would be a good budget?
Max probably 500$

i would agree, with a modest overclock the 6300 can reach sandy bridge i5 speeds and shouldnt bottleneck the gpu for most games. but there are some games that will just always run better on even a dual core intel i3 pr even pentium g series cpu.
