So I’m having some problem in fortnite where the fps drops to 90-100 on low settings whenever I’m in a fight and the gpu usage also dips down to 40-45% while the cpu usage goes up to 50-60%. When I’m not in a fight the fps is usually at 200-240 while the gpu usage is at 50-60% and cpu usage at 50-55%. My temps are quite normal which is 58-60c for gpu and 60-63c for cpu. Cpu sits at 4% usage when idle.
I tested other competitive games and the gpu usage is always at 90-98% but idk why its quite low for fortnite. I tried using ddu to clean and reinstall new drivers, changing windows power plan to ultimate performance, changing nvidia settings to all performance but none worked. Only thing that worked is changing the graphics setting to high preset but there’s hitches and fps is not that good.
My specs are:
Cpu: I7 7700 (non k) from prebuilt pc 4 yrs ago and upgrading is not an option since I’m tight on budget.
Gpu: MSI 1660 Super Gaming X
Psu: Corsair TX-550M
Ram: Tforce Delta (8x2) ddr4 2400mhz
Mobo: Biostar B250+
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.
