Hi, I got this setup: i3-4130 @ 3,4, HD 5850 Xtreme, 4GBs, Asrock H81M and Thermaltake 500w and I want to know if I got botteneck or something.

Playing games like Far Cry 3 CPU is always running at 99% and GPU (with all settings in high-medium) is running at 80-70% and even 6x% in some places... GPU only reachs 99% if I put all details in ULTRA but mi fps drops very hard... so, am I getting some kind of bottleneck?

Greetings!

Your problem is being limited by your hardware. Your CPU shouldn't be bottlenecking that GPU, you're just running on lower end hardware, and can't expect to play at very high resolutions or very high settings without drops in performance. It isn't bad hardware, mind you, but specs wise it just can't be expected to keep up with current generation games running at peak settings.

Doubt it, that i3 is a pretty fast cpu. You have a gpu bottleneck in the more demanding games like Far Cry 3. When you put Ultra and see 99% gpu usage, but low fps that means your card is too slow. If you want higher fps at higer settings ie High/Ultra you need a better gpu. I'm pretty sure that cpu could handle a single GTX 760/R9270 just fine.

Wow thanks to both of you but there is another point. If my GPU is bottlenecking my CPU why GPU load sits on 70% average when I put all settings in high-mid-low??? My card should be at 99% even with these settings, right?

Ultra: 45fps avg
Very high: 50fps avg
High: +50-55fps avg
Medium: 65fps avg

I think I just found a way to "keep the GPU busy", putting all settings on medium except POSTFX which I put it in very high, doing that the CPU and GPU are always running at 97% avg... why is this?

PS: I play at 1366x768!

No your GPU can't bottleneck the CPU as the CPU has to feed the GPU the data to process. However your GPU is running as fast as it can. The only way you'll improve performance is either lowing your settings or buying a faster GPU
