Specs: AMD FX Radeon 580
Amd FX 4300 Processor
8Gb of 1600 ram

So i recently upgraded from a amd fx 460 to a 580 looking to improve my fps. I got it and installed it and its working fine and everything but I still get the same fps as the 460 that I previously used. Please help because i am really looking for some good fps.

If your FPS doesn't increase when you lower your settings then yes you'd benefit from a better CPU however the FX socket is pretty outdated so unless your getting a better CPU for next to nothing it's really not worth it. Save up for AMD Ryzen/B450 MB/DDR4 memory.

So the problem is my cpu. Rn i have a Gigabyte Ga-78LMT-S2 mobo and it only supports 2 ddr3 slots so since i have 2 sticks of 4gb ram could i upgrade to 2 sticks of 8gb ram and could that fix it maybe?

It won't help much.

So would a 8300 or 6300 be better. I know a 8300 would be better but is it worth it or are they almost the same. And also are they both compatible with my mobo. I listed it here earlier

Save up for a AMD Ryzen such as the R3 1200/2200G, either of those CPU's will outperform the FX 8XXX series but you'll also need a AM4 motherboard, preferably B450 and fast DDR4 memory, 2800+.

What is the absolute most you can spend on upgrades?

I disagree. The 6300 performs a bit behind a ryzen 3 1200 which would be well paired with the 580. The 8300 would leave a little more roome for cpu dependant titles. Unfortunatly they are very overpriced at about $80-100 so a platform upgrade may be a better option. Dropping in an 8300 would bandage this problem and work well. Keep in mind you will have to spend a lot more money in the future to upgrade since the 8300 is quickly becoming obsolete.

The thing is i just got a bunch of stuff for xmas and my mom doesnt want to spend anymore money. I have like 900 dollars to spend though so how much would a new motherboard and new good ram and a new processor be?
