CPU Bottleneck question

Hello guys i ve got the a10 7850 OC 4.7 and i want to ask if i get bottleneck with r9 290X-Gtx 970
mobo ASUS A88XM-PLUS

There will be some, yes. In all but the most graphics limited games. It will be even worse in multiplayer gaming on a busy server when the CPU has the extra duty of keeping track of 64 other players. The R8-280 or GTX 760 would be a better balanced gfx card.

I find that hard to believe. I am more familiar with intel cpus. I don't think a 4.7ghz quad core will bottleneck either of those cards.

Thank you for the fast response! hmm i suppose there will be some bottleneck, this cpu is old. and i suppose the ghz wont be any improvement.

Tom's Hdwr. ranks the A10-7850 in the same tier as the older Phenom II X4's and Intel 1st gen Core and C2Q CPUs... for gaming.

OC'ing the A10 will, of course, help a bit. For comparison, I have a Ph II X4 965BE @ 4.0 Ghz (same tier as the A10) that is maxed out with my R9-280. In most games I've tested, the CPU is at or near 100% usage when the gfx card still has a tiny bit of headroom left.
