i have 2 nvidia 465's in sli at 750/1700 and they are great but in games like bf3 i'm only getting 15-35fps with EVERYTHING turned to low(800x600)yet when i look at the gpu usage in msi afterburner i'm only using ~30% usage.i expect a cpu bottleneck because i have a intel core 2 duo E7500@2.93 Ghz and i'm thing of upgrading because i can't stand the lag in bf3 i was thinking of an AMD 965 black(hopefully 4.2Ghz+ OC)with an ASRock 990FX yet i still don't know if it will bottleneck the cards

thank you in advance

The AMD 4170/4300 will run BF3 just fine but I would defiantly put a healthy OC on it to make it work it's weight cause otherwise you might be a bit disappointed. The Intel Core i3 line of CPU are really good even less 2 cores. The AMD 965 is ok but honestly I would have to recommend you against that one as it's now getting a bit long in the tooth and AMD has better option now.

The E7500 is a MAJOR bottleneck for BF3.
I would strongly recommend you save up to get an 1155 socket motherboard, with an appropriate intel CPU.

The AMD 4300 will be a major bottleneck for BF3 as well. With your setup you would need an Intel quad core, or an overclocked AMD processor (At least 6000, preferably 8000) to fully utilize your 465's in SLI

i'm benchmarking unigine heaven and both the gpu usage is right near each other and i'm getting good fps :(

with everything turned up on unigine heaven(8xAA windowed, shaders and textures on high, anisotropy 16x,everything enabled, tessellation extreme) one weird thing was that i couldn't change my resolution so i can't change it to 1920x1080 and what i got was
FPS:43.5
Scores:1095
Min FPS:8.1
Max FPS:117
i don't know there seem like really good scores but :??:
