From another thread someone said that a 7790 will bottleneck an i5 4670. I was really confused as I was sure that a 770 outperforms a 7790. Is it true that a 4670 will be bottlenecked by a 770. If it does.. what cpu should I purchase for a 4670 without bottlenecks.

Solution
If you want to OC the 770, you can get a non K cpu, and an H mobo. When you OC the GPU, it's not dependent on your mobo or CPU overclockability. But if you want to OC your K version CPU, then get a Z series mobo.

Just DL msi Afterburner, then OC your 770. But if you game on 1080p, you'll max out most games anyway. No need to OC IMHO.

Don't believe me? Here's a gameplay of your planned rig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwNg1NUQGPo
Whether AMD or Intel is your platform, most single GPU configs will be the bottleneck in a high end system with newer games.

A mid-range Crossfire or SLI setup will give the CPU more room to flex it's muscle when it comes to modern multi-core optimized games.

With a 7790 or 770, the good news is you can get one now, and add a 2nd later if you like. And with the new AMD GPU drivers out with frame pacing this is a realistic option now.

good thought that a 770 would outperform. While I'm here, should i bother getting a 4670k and a z87 motherboard to oc a 770? If so any recommendations? Looking around a few people said not to bother but this is to try increase fps.
