Hi everybody.
I am new to the forum and I don't know where to start from.
I am thinking on buying a new system but the problem is i can't choose which cpu must have. Every dealer at the shops will try to sell you what they want to. so my question is
Should I buy an AMD64 3000+ (S-754) or should I go for Intel P4 3ghz LG-775 (as long as they have almost same Price). Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I don't post alot on the forum, but I have been reading it for quite a while... and I think I can make a pretty good guess on what is going to be the reply to this.

1) "It all depends on the kind of applications you are using the system for. Are you going to use it for gaming, graphic design, video editing, etc...

OR

2) Go with the AMD64 3000+

That's what I think most of the replies will be just from what I have seen. But I am definitely not the right guy to ask. I am currently trying to make my own first computer, and don't really have a good idea of what to include yet.

you will want to go with the A64 CPU but make sure you get one of the socket 939 ones because they support dual channel DDR and the socket 754's are being phased out by AMD.

Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Definately the Intel AMD 64 version...

I'll recommend the A64 3000+, but only if you promise to buy a nice nForce3 chipset motherboard for it.
