Question CPU Cable Connections

Morning All,

Sorry if this has been asked, I know the very basics & wanted to check with you guys first.

I'm building my first PC. I am connecting up the PSU to motherboard - everything works fine but I have a spare 4pin connector (8pin from PSU then 2× 4pin) - can this plug be cut off/removed to make it look tidy?

PSU: EVGA 55Ow B3
Motherboard: ECS Q77J2-M
