CPU causes on-screen glitching flashes

Hello, I already searched around and found no threads with a similar problem as mine.
I have a pretty strange problem that is *solved* and need some clarification or ideas:-
System config:
X4 955 not OCed, never was
650W CoolerMaster PSU
ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO
4GB Kingston RAM
HD 5850 AMD
WIN 7 x64 (home) + WIN 8.1 x64 (core)
A while ago my system would show glitches/artifacts in games like BF4&COD:Ghost, so I directly went to a nearby tech, after testing for himself claimed I had a "malware/virus affecting my Drivers" after re-installing my drivers and checking for any known malware..... same problem, so I asked to use a friends HDD with a ready system installed and the same BF4 online we played (btw: his system was & is still working fine). the problem persisted, so I excluded the corrupt driver stuff.
this had me dizzy for 2 weeks on end, I had another technician check and after another delay, said I had a failing VGA card ATI HD5850, (reference model not overclocked)--- :( --- the next day I had purchased the Sapp Vap-X R9-280X (great for its price btw), after installing the driver the same problem persisted.... and the day after, it got worse....have coloured flashes in the browser window (2D) when-ever an element is activated(hovered over).
Another opinion was I had a failing MOBO, my old one was an ASUS M4A79XTD-Evo that had a dead onboard sound chip"VIA xxx", I bought the GIGABYTE 990XA-UD3(that I really regret)...and guess what it still flashes in browser....
I sent my system to a friend and told him to swap everything he has with my stuff, only remaining were RAM/PSU/CPU.
already working RAM chips were replaced by my old ones Kingston 1600Mhz 2x2 4GB cl-9 in dual channel mode (also not overclocked) & no still the flashes. Then came the PSU, replacing my coolermaster 650W by a coolermaster 720W, and still not it.
Finally came the CPUs turn, after swapping my old AMD-ph2 X4 955 to the X3 720, ** It didnt flash!!!, browser worked fine and games too ** gave me quite the run tho....

* So after reading this boring post, I'd like it if someone has any insight on to what happened, and hopefully anyone who had any similar problem like this (God Forbid :) ) would know that it might be a faulty processor.....

Another thing for those who understand what might be happening .... when the CPU is running PRIME95 x64 @ long/short FFTs all workers stressed, the glitches/flashes dont exist, (just the games are soo laggy as expected :) ) any reason why probably stressing a CPU like that would make it work
N.B:- Temps on the NorthBridge ASUS MOBO never passed 55 degrees Celsius while that GIGABYTE 990XA @ idle would reach 60 degrees, @load I stopped at 80+ deg risking a new Mobo going up in flames----- Avg. room temp is 23, so I hope I'd return the 990 it sux

now I'm all broke and heading back to school in a week so...
Woe is me..... :'(

I know the HD5850's have a dual monitor flicker problems as both my HD5850s do that crap on 2d mode. I also seen a few R9 280 and 280x's have issue with artifacts (Flashing colors, Checkerboard, Lines). That was a known issue that can only be fixed by replacing the card.

Also I seen some weird crap happen with new GPU's and old bios, I had a GT610 in an ASRock mobo and it would freeze and all that mess until I updated the bios. Might be something with how that board handled the x4. I can't see a CPU causing issues like that, Maybe check your ram and lower its clock to 1333mhz or lower like 1066mhz and see if you get the same issues if you still want to run the x4.

Thanx for your reply,
Concerning the dilemma (RAM/CPU issue), I managed to test my RAM, on an ASUS M5A970 on a pretty old BIOS (2008 old), with a friends processor & it works pretty good, nothing strange.
Got back home and tried lowering the clock to 1066 (btw, pretty humiliating :\ ) and nothing new just chrome starts-up pretty slow as expected.
The RAM chips can almost certainly pass as good (Already MEM+tested them).
+ Got tired of installing & re-installing the CPU FAN, almost wasted a pack of GELID GC-Extreme for about 10+ installations (why would I do that? Cuz I had no other thermal compound :'( at home)

[single monitor 1080p -single VGA card -separate single RAM DIMM 2GB each @ 1600mhz]
It's been working pretty decently the past week, I borrowed games from friends and everything works well
(Batman, TombRaider, Injustice & FIFA 14) Except the browsers (chrome, firefox, opera & IE if anyone still uses it)

Thanks again for your troubles
