AMD ATHLON XP2700+ 333MHZ FSB 256Cache vs AMD ATHLON XP2800+ 333MHZ FSB
512Cache

XP2700 is 2.16GHz
XP2800 is 2.08GHz

Is it worth getting the XP2800 and lose the faster CPU speed of XP2700 just
for bigger cache?

This will be going on the Asus A7V8X-X motherboard with Crucial memory
(PC2700)

Comparing a 2000 Athlon against a 3200 Barton
when searching for factors of huge numbers using
http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM
showed only about a 20% increase in speed.

There is almost zero disk i/o or graphics in that.

The AMD will probably run Adobe Premiere pro if you plan to get that.
