[SOLVED] CPU choice when already have a motherboard

Hi All, just starting out, building a gaming PC with my son. Have a MSI X370SLI plus motherboard but not sure whether to get the Ryzen5 2600 or Ryzen 7 CPU. Advice please

If the price difference between the R5 2600x and the R7 2700 is not too much then get the latter one, or get the one that is cheaper.
Performance will more or less be equal.
