[SOLVED] CPU clock speed always drops during gaming.

Hello, I have a core i7 7500 U processor with a base speed of 2.7ghz and can go up to 3.5ghz. Whenever I'm gaming the processor speed drops to about about 2.0-1.85 GHz and doesn't go up anymore until I quit the game. Why is that? Please help. Thank you.

It may be thermal throttling, do check the temps while in game using msi afterburner...

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the temps and it's usually around 78°C . Is that bad?

the temps arent that bad... Go to power settings and turn on high performance mode... But the issue is related to temp issues,,,

I have already turned on high performance mode but I'll do something about the temperature, maybe buy a cooling pad or something.
