In my opinion both of those cpus have the potential to be very solid gaming cpus. On the other hand for video editing, in comparison to the 3770k and the 4770k i7's (best in the market) those cpus suck, however they work. The trick in video editing is finding the cpu with the most raw power that you can afford. In this case that is the fx-6300. But I recommend you get the fx-8350.

rule of thumb- In video editing the CPU and the RAM is the most important part so don't skimp out.
