CPU Comparison Help

Hello!
I am looking to upgrade my CPU. A lot of the scoring websites are putting mine above the upgrade im looking at but im not sure they're very accurate... The CPU's I'd like to compare are:
AMD A10-5700
AMD A10-6800K
AMD FX-8300 (Black Edition)
Any information you can give me would be great!

Which of those do you own now? The FX and A10 processors use different motherboards, if you're looking to upgrade keeping your motherboard your choice is limited.

If you plan on changing boards, I would tell you all of those are a waste of money and to get an H110 Motherboard and an i3-6100

yes, a motherboard change is gonna happen. Can you tell me a little about the 6100? i've been hearing it's better but what is better about it? Also, just a note, the processor i need should be best for gaming on somewhat intensive games

The i3-6100 demolishes your choices in processor in single core performance. Now it has less cores so in certain tasks (and very few of them) AMD FX 8 core processors can perform as well. Gaming wise however very few games use beyond a couple of cores, and the i3-6100 has been found to benchmark better than most all FX processors with a good GPU attached because of its better cores and hyperthreading to pick up the slack.

The other advantage is it makes it very easy for you to do a large processor upgrade in the future as new processors are still being released on the Skylake platform.

Okay, thanks those are good reasons. I have a GTX 960 2gb and a game for example would be Grand Theft Auto 5. Would that combo be pretty good for that game? At least as far as high to ultra settings would go?

Yeah that would be an excellent combo. That said going forward the i3-6100 should handle an even better GPU should you decide to upgrade.
