I currently have the ASUS A68HM-Plus motherboard and want to upgrade CPU. Would the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 be compatible with my mobo?

The ASUS A68HM-PLUS is a FM2+ socket motherboard so the answer is no. Ryzen requires an AM4 socket motherboard.

Also note that your motherboard uses DDR3 ram, while Ryzen uses DDR4.
