Hey i just got a new motherboard for christmas (ASUS TUF z270 mark 1), it doesn't support my current cpu 15 4690 due to it being a LGA1150 socket while the motherboards socket is LGA1151. i did my research and it appears that the best compatible cpu would be the i7 7700k, but when i went onto amazon to get it two came
up both claiming to be the i7 7700k. one of the cpu's is a 2017 model, while the other is 2016, also it appears that there is a difference in diameters between the two. i'm not sure if this difference is for the box of the cpu or the cpu itself in which case one coould potentially not fit in my motherboard. if someone could quickly check and see if there is a difference between the two and inform me of what it is that would be perfect! thaanks in advance.
