[SOLVED] CPU compatibility

Hello, my Gigabyte GA-Z170 ATX board just died. It currently has a i7-6700k in it, that I still plan to use. Will new boards that support 8th/9th gen LGA1151 CPUs support my 6th gen CPU, or do I need to find an older board?

How does that help me? I dont have that board anymore. It died.

I dont think you understand my question. I previously had the motherboard I stated above with a i7-6700k in it, until the mobo died. The cpu is still fine and I want to continue using it. Since it is a 6th gen cpu, will it work in a brand new 8th/9th gen motherboard?

the reverse is the same motherboard for 8/9 gen don't work with 6/7 gen cpu
