Would I be able to use an Intel Xeon e5450 in a Hp Compaq 6000 Pro MicroTower?

Specs
PSU: 320 W BTX Active PFC
GPU: ATI Radeon HD6570
RAM: 12gb DDR3 SDRAM

You are using an LGA771 CPU in an oem 775 mobo, so it is not a good idea

You will need to

1. Modify the CPU to fit
2. have the motherboards bios professionally modified to see the Xeon

Even then it may not work.

Would an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 be a good idea?

What about a Xeon X5460?

Avoid all of the Xeons using the LGA 771 socket (like the X5450 or 5460). They aren't worth the hassle to get working.
