So i got a MSI MAG B660 TOMAHAWK WIFI (DDR4) motherboard with a 1700 socket and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO v2. They're supposed to fit and im following the instructions for the 1700 socket but no matter how hard i try i just can't get it to fit. What am i doing wrong? I have scoured the internet for answers but it says everywhere that they are compatible. What am i missing lol.

According to CM website it is not listed as socket 1700 compatible.
If it is a new purchase of old stock they may have a new mounting bracket for 1700 socket.
I would contact CM support to see if one is available.
It is a good/cheap cooler for lower wattage processors, but can not cope with Intel's/AMD's high end processors
The website i purchased it on lists it as 1700 compatible as well. I guess I'll begin by contacting them.

Not limited to CM. Many old new stock AIOs websites' list compatibility with 1700 but older revisions/packages don't have the braket.

Most manufacturers will send the 1700 mounting kit without any issues.
