I wanted to ask around, and also inform others, about an odd issue I ran into with my Hyper 212 Evo. When it was installed, I could not get my memory to work in dual-channel. I had to put two sticks into single-channel. I thought my A channels were dead and nothing I did worked. However, when I took the cooler out and installed an H100i AIO, I just thought I would try to use the A channel and voila! It worked.
This leads me to believe that the Hyper 212 Evo was causing some sort of issue. I noticed that one of the standoff's for the cooler was missing the coating and figured that it may have been contacting and shorting leads from the A channel on the motherboard.
Has anyone else had this problem or currently have it? It just seems like such an odd problem to run into.
Just to note, I did think the cooler was tightened too much and tried loosening it but it did nothing. The change only happened after removing the cooler itself.
